Small camas is a native spring ephemeral with showy, pale to deep blue flowers.  Bulbs will slowly spread by offsets when grown in favorable locations (moist, rich, organic but well-drained soils).  By mid-summer the foliage will yellow and wither away and the plant goes dormant until reemerging next spring.  These bulbous plants are grown and shipped in biodegradable pots; plant the entire pot to avoid disturbing the bulbs.  Pots will quickly break down when in contact with the surrounding soil.
