Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Squarrosa Intermedia' is a slow-growing dwarf plant that starts as a rounded mound of soft, dense, tiny, blue-green needles. Mature specimens will send out longer branches with sparse foliage. These "whips" eventually fill in with the soft, moss-like foliage and the process repeats.  Plants can be tightly sheared if desired.
