This edible fig variety was bred by Louisiana State University for its vigor, disease resistance, and sweet, flavorful fruit. When ripe, fuits have a deep purple skin with light amber to strawberry-colored flesh. Plants are very well suited to heat and humidity. Must be grown in containers in Zone 6 and colder areas. Allow plants to go dormant outside in late fall, then move into an unheated but protected location for the winter such as an attached garage or basement. Keep the container soil slightly moist through the winter.
