This ornamental elderberry has stunning purple-black, finely cut lacy foliage that emerges early in the growing season.  Light pink flower clusters follow in early summer.  Not likely to set fruit unless pollinated by a different S. nigra variety.  This unique large shrub can be used as a specimen, backdrop, or border.
