Also called old field goldenrod, Solidago nemoralis is a short-statured native for late season pollinators. It looks great with dry soil asters and short native grasses like little bluestem and prairie dropseed.  At home in tough planting locations, it will slowly spread in the absence of competing vegetation.  After establishment, best results are obtained though neglect.
