Emerging foliage on this native iris is strikingly deep blue-violet.  Flowers the same color appear on dark stems of the 2' to 3’ tall plants in late spring - early summer. Clumps will increase in size each season, with an ever-increasing number of blooms.  Best in damp to wet soil but accepts average garden conditions.
