This hard-to-find hybrid cultivar of US natives Iris virginica and Iris versicolor delights with mysteriously dark purple new foliage.  Deep blue-violet flowers form atop the 2.5' to 3’ plants in late spring - early summer. Clumps will increase in size each season, with an ever-increasing number of blooms.  Best in damp to wet soil but accepts average garden conditions.
