Grey Owl is an uncommon variety (possibly a hybrid) of our native eastern red cedar (juniper).  Unlike the species, Grey Owl is a shrub form.  It is slower growing and slower to fill in than many non-native juniper shrubs, but its blue-gray wispy evergreen foliage makes it invaluable for naturalistic landscapes.
